Think About It:
When I think of what I want to be when I grow up, I think of graphic designers and how they have shaped the world around us. Did you know that early designers invented the paragraph? And all of the different styles of typography that there are today. But nowadays, there are MUCH more designers and professionals out there to make a difference in this world. To change the way people see everyday products and stores and just about everything you can see, touch, smell, hear, and talk about. Graphic Design is everywhere, weather we like it or not, that is why I have such a passion for design, the fact that I could possibly make something that some person out there will potentially buy? Crazy right. Not so much. At my school [Cabrillo Senior High] the graphics team works hard on being the best. And we ARE the best, not to brag, but we are. As my teacher says to us frequently, “you guys are the elite, the creation generation, and better than most college student” I get a good feeling out of these words. So I leave you with this. The next time you see something on your store shelves, think about this: who designed this? what was the degree of professionalism put into this product, how many different types of designs were made before THIS one was put out on the market.
A little about me:
I am a Senior at Cabrillo High, and a 17 year old self-taught photographer. Not all that much to brag about, but still, I love photography. I haven't taken a photo class in highschool. I'm thinking about aking one in college though. I just hope I don't have to sit through a semester of "now, what's an aperture" and etc. But no matter.
I have a problem with self esteem. Apparently I don't have enough.
Currently taking Graphic Design as a career choice. But that may change. It all depends on my grades and my enthusiasm.
I doodle a lot during class.
I can't draw for crap.
But I'd rather try to get better then learn about how much my teacher hates the new principal...
Second Semester! Hopefully this will be a good one.
